The President of the Senate and the director-general of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation , Bukola Saraki, has attacked Buhari’s and said that his fight against corruption is an unrealistic one.

He also said that what Buhari was doing was mere propaganda.

Speaking in an interview with Channels television, he said:

“We go to the issue of corruption. I believe that is more of propaganda than reality. Why do I say that? Even by most of the world organisations, if you look at our indices in corruption, we have gone back. And more importantly what examples are they showing in the government and anybody in the government been prosecuted in the public. None. Zero,” he said.

“If truly the president is fighting corruption, I am baffled how a member of his government who they found wanting, up till today, no charge, no prosecution.

“To me, once you can’t do that, you lose the moral high ground to say that you are fighting corruption. You must show that nobody is above the law. You must show that no matter how close anybody is to you, you must take action and that’s not happening.”

Saraki also challenged Buhari and said that if he is indeed a man of integrity, he would take action.
