Another plot has been added to the drama called $2.1 billion arms procurement deal probe and trial of alleged culprits, as the suspected chief culprit, Sambo Dasuki, accused President Muhammadu Buhari of also receiving $300,000 from his office as a former National Security Adviser.
Although the presidency has denied the claim, stating that Buhari only received 2 Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), Nigerians have gone on social media to express their views about the unfolding events.
Tweeting using the hashtag #BuhariGate, many have dismissed the allegations against the President as an attempt to tarnish his image for sanctioning the probe, while others believe the president should be made to pay if he is found to have participated in fraudulent activities involving the current probe.
