Buhari, Why! – Nigerians lament over fuel hike

4 Min Read

Nigerians have been thrown into a state of devastation after the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) on Wednesday, announced a fresh increase in fuel price from N138.62 per litre to N151.56.

The increase is coming alongside a hike in electricity tariffs.

Nigerians who are unhappy with the situation have called for the immediate reversal of the new prices.

The citizens embarked on a social media protest, accusing  President Buhari of being insensitive towards the plight of the masses.

@Towmeelee

Increase fuel, double electricity tariff and crash savings interest rates…all in less than 24hours.

The aim of these people is to make sure you remain in perpetual poverty so they can totally suppress you!

@FisayoSoyombo

March 2018, when it was time to reduce the pump price of petrol from N145/litre to N125, the “approval” was by “President Muhammadu Buhari”.

Today, time to increase it from N138.62 to N151.56, the “announcement” is by “PPMC”.

Smart play on avoidance of responsibility.

In the 2015 presidential campaign I warned Nigerians that this would happen if Buhari was elected

I shouted it on the rooftops morning day and night but the people refused to listen. Instead they insulted me & rejected GEJ.

Let them continue with their insults and enjoy their plight. This is a sad testimony but worse of all is that there is far more to come. Sai Baba!

What will Buhari be remembered for?

His promises have been broken. He promised to fight corruption but has elevated corruption to a national policy.

Under his watch, key democratic institutions have been destroyed. He has nether clues nor capacity to govern.

@OcheniACA

The incessant rise in the price of commodities is quite alarming aside the unpatriotic increased in electric tariff and fuel price.

This is inhumane and uncalled for.

This govt isn’t humanity-friendly.

@Auta_Musa_

I can vividly recall when i sacrificed my car in order to campaign for this old man called Buhari thinking he’s going to shock us with projects in the north. Not knowing is going to be other way round.

Today Buhari administration is shocking us electric wire.

@adeyanjudeji

The people who were jumping up & down in Ojota with us under GEJ when Petrol was N86 are now buying for N151 without complain. Fear will not even allow them try the things they did against Jonathan to Buhari.

@lex_teff

Petrol price has been increased again but I don’t see anyone protesting about it, our celebrities are mute like beggers on the street of lagos, toothless twitter giants and activist as usual keep talking here.. Buhari APC should never have tasted power at the federal level 👇
