The National Assembly, has invited President Muhammadu Buhari, for questioning over the dwindling state of the economy.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in a brief session is to explain to the Senate on the measures taken to stir the country out of its present state, because the hardship has lingered for too long.
The resolution was reached today by the Senate when it concurred to an original resolution of the house of representatives inviting the president for the meeting.
“Distinguished colleagues, that the Senate do not concur with the House of representatives resolution on An invitation of Mr President,GFCR ,to address a joint session of the National Assembly to intimate it on plans to get the country out of the recession. ”
” Those that are in favour say ‘Ayes’!!!, those that are against say ‘Nay.’ The Ayes have it.”
The Senate is yet to specify the date scheduled for the brief joint session with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that on Thursday, September 22nd, the House of representatives passed the resolution which was later sent to the Senate, according to the legislative guide lines for concurrence.
The National Assembly has taken alot of steps to stir the country out of recession.
One of the strides on the part of the Red Chamber was to conduct a two day plenary on ways out of recession, after which is made 20 recommendations.
The key point of the recommendation was that the nation should sell it’s National assets as was then suggested.
