Buhari Must Not Embark On Selective Probe – PDP

2 Min Read

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has reiterated its earlier statement that the All Progressives Congress-led federal government is witch hunting its members while insisting that the war against corruption must be impartial.

This was made known by the spokesman of the party, Olisa Metuh at the State Congress of the party in Lokoja.

He further stressed that the Muhammadu Buhari administration should investigate and prosecute politicians even in his party as he has promised to do in a Wednesday CNN interview.

He said: “We expect the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government not to embark on `selective probing’ of public office holders found wanting before or during his government.”

He urged the PDP members in the state to ensure that they were free of corruption in their dealings.

“If your hands are clean, you will not be afraid of any probe,’’ he said.

The PDP scribe described corruption as a crime against the common will of Nigerians.

“Corruption is a crime against the people, the nation and our constitution,’’ he said.

He said every legitimate means should be deployed to fight public corruption and added that the approach to eradicate corruption in Nigeria must be a just strategy.

Metuh urged the would-be-delegates in the state’s congress to ensure to elect good leaders that would pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Similar, the Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, said that party’s congress provided members the opportunity to change the history of the party in the state for better.

“I urge you the delegates to choose wisely,’’ the governor said.

Wada urged the party’s members to support the candidates that would make-up the state’s executive council from the congress.

He added: “Try as much as possible to support any candidate that emerges as winner at the end of the congress.

“What we are doing here today will change the history of the PDP in our state.’’
