President Muhammadu Buhari is presently in the process of meeting some All Progressives Congress (APC) senators over a series of defections that have hit the party in recent days.
The meeting is said to be holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Also expected to be at the meeting is the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.
Recall that 15 APC senators and 37 House of Representatives members defected from the party to other parties, mainly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the president had in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Mallam Garba Shehu, wished the decamped members well.
Buhari said, “As the saying goes, all politics is local. We understand that some of the distinguished and honourable lawmakers have issues with their home states, especially on zoning which bars some of them from seeking another term in their constituencies.”
Buhari also assured members of the APC of his total support and urged party faithful not to despair but to see the defections as a seasonal occurrence that happens on election eve.
Furthermore, he expressed confidence that no harm or injury will be done to the party and its aspirations by the movements.
Buhari wished all the decamped members the best in their future undertakings.
