The president, Muhammadu Buhari who has been in the United Kingdom on an extended medical leave may be returning to the country today.

According to Daily Trust, a former Minister of State for Information, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande claimed the president will be returning to the country today March 6, 2017.

Nakande was quoted by the news source to have disclosed the likely return of the president during another special prayer session held for the president on Sunday, March 5 at the Jos Central Mosque.

Nakande was reported to have said: “From the information I gathered, President Buhari is hale and sound and may come back today (yesterday) or tomorrow (today). All what is needed from us is prayer for the full recovery and God’s guidance for the president to deliver his campaign promises.”

Nakande was further quoted to have said that the president had been in talks over phone with different stakeholders and members of the National Assembly including the Senate president, Bukola Saraki.

Nakande added: “It is only Buhari that can take this nation out of the mess it found itself.”

The report however comes hot on the heels of a report by Sahara Reporters which claimed the presidency is allegedly trying hard to bring President Buhari back into the country before the eight-weeks closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Sahara Reporters had reported a source within the presidency to have said: “Some of Mr. President’s associates are mounting pressure on him to return to Abuja as soon as possible, and especially before the [Abuja] airport is temporarily closed.”
