Following the absence of the president, Muhammadu Buhari from the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting today, there gave been several speculations regarding the president’s absence from the crucial meeting as a faction of Nigerians speculated that the absence is connected with the president’s health status.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has however denied the claims that the president was absent from the meeting based on health reasons.
Speaking with journalists at the state house in Abuja after the FEC meeting, Alhaji Lai Mohammed noted that the president is not sick.
Lai Mohammed maintained that the president is hale and hearty adding that his absence from the meeting which was chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was because he had other important tasks to attend to.
The Information Minister further added that it is not compulsory for the president to attend every Federal Executive Council meeting.
