President Muhammadu Buhari has taken another tough step in his anti-corruption war, he reportedly issued a fresh order to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to account for funds that were stolen but recovered by the Commission.
He instructed the commission to ignore comments from different quarters about the motives of the anti-corruption drive.
“Mr. President wanted a very clear picture regarding accountability and the exact amount of funds already recovered from some of those who were said to be making refunds to the coffers of the Federal Government of Nigeria, a source told Vanguard.
During a meeting with new EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, President Buhari also specifically requested that funds recovered under former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde must also be accounted for because there has been speculations about the recovery of the funds.
The President asked for the full account of everything that went down.
