President Muhammadu Buhari gave out his daughter Fatima Buhari to Mallam Gimba Kuma, in his hometown of Kastina state yesterday.
The ceremony, which took place on the 28th of October, according to Islamic rites, was carried out amidst tight security presence.
A lot of dignitaries graced the occasion to come celebrate with the president’s family, but only few prominent persons were given access to the main sitting room of the presidential residence in Mai ‘adua road, Kastina state.
Security operatives also flooded the Jumu’at Mosque, where the ceremony took place.
It was gathered that the groom, a former Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage bank, paid N100,000 for the bride price.
Some dignitaries present at the occasion include: Federal and State Government officials, Governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Dankwambo, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar of Bauchi state, Minister of Interior, Mr Abdurahman Dambazau, Defence Minister, Mansur Dan-Ali.
Others in attendance were: Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, Comptroller-General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammadu Babandede, Director General of the Department of State Services, Mr Lawal Daura, Senators Mustapha Bukar (Kastina North), Ahmed Sani from Zamfara, and Danjuma Goje from Gombe State.
