I have Tried to be Fair With Political Appointments – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken out against the treatment of aggrieved members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The President released a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, where he said that aggrieved APC members should be allowed to fight in court, something the NWC of the APC seem reluctant to allow.

“We can’t deliberately deny people of their rights,”  the statement said

“We agreed that party primaries should be conducted either through direct, indirect or consensus methods, and if anyone feels unjustly treated in the process, such a person can go to court,” he said.

“The court should always be the last resort for the dissatisfied. For the party to outlaw the court process is not acceptable to me.”

This is following a statement by the NWC of the APC in which they warned all aggrieved members of the party to withdraw any pending suits in court or risk facing sanctions by the party.

President Buhari does not agree with this line of reasoning and behavior as he believes that all people who feel they have been wronged by the party in one way or the other should be able to seek redress in the court of law.
