Senator representing Bayelsa East constituency Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has advised that all public office holders except the president use their personal cars to serve the citizens.
Murray-Bruce who was tweeting with #BudgetCommonsense noted that how does Nigeria look when it borrows from the United Kingdom to fund the 2016 budget yet its expenses is more than that of the UK.
One country we hope to borrow from is UK whose PM doesn't have a private jet yet he will see billions in our budget for our leader's jet.

I look at this budget & its sad that it cost far far more to run Aso Rock than it does to run 10 Downing St, yet we want to borrow from UK!

I talk like this because I am no 'yam eater'. Nobody can accuse me of collecting 10 kobo contract from GEJ. I speak because I love Nigeria!

Looking at the luxuries in this budget and my thought is that we should not push the poor to the point that they have nothing to eat but us!

What does the British PM fly? He flies BA or Virgin. Nigeria that want to borrow money from Britain have multiples private jets for leaders!

1-Are Nigerians aware the British PM only gets annual grant of £30,000 for upkeep of his official flat inside 10 downing? #BudgetCommonsense

2-How does Nigeria looks when we seek to borrow from Britain to fund 2016 budget yet our expenses are higher than theirs? #BudgetCommonsense

3-I said except the President, we should all use personal cars. We look like fools if we spend more than our creditors #BudgetCommonsense

4-If the 2016 budget is passed as is, we will borrow ₦5 Billion daily. It will be irresponsible to spend debt on luxuries #BudgetCommonsense
— Ben Murray-Bruce (@benmurraybruce) January 30, 2016
5-Isn't it embarrassing to fly a Presidential jet to a country we want to borrow from and whose own leaders have none? #BudgetCommonsense

6-I practice what I preach. In chambers & publicly, I call for reduction in pay. I share my own pay with my Constituents #BudgetCommonsense
