Dr. Junaid Mohammed, a Second Republic lawmaker, has corroborated former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s claims following budget padding scandal embroiling the National Assembly.
Obasanjo had posited that Lawmakers are in office for their purse and not for the welfare of the masses.
He also urged Nigerians to select and elect only men of integrity into the National Assembly henceforth.
Junaid, who spoke with Vanguard in respond to the uproar caused by Obasanjo’s statement made on Monday at the Presidential Villa, said the former President was right in his claim and deserves commendation for mustering the courage to speak out.
Junaid noted that none of the members of the present and past National Assembly has by their actions and utterances given Nigeria a good image and should therefore attempt to insult Obasanjo.
