The Lagos State governorship election petition tribunal has affirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election, The Herald reports.
In the ruling on Monday, Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile said Justice Mikhail Abdullah, a member of the three-member panel said the petition of governorship candidates of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor, lacked merit.
Gboyega Akosile via his official X account formerly known as Twitter said; ” The Lagos State Election Petition Tribunal upholds Governor Sanwo-Olu’s victory, says Governor and Deputy are validly elected and should continue their job!
“The three judges: Justice Arum Ashom, Justice Mikail Abdullahi, and Justice Igho Braimoh agree with the judgment of returning Sanwo-Olu”.

Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor further tweeted saying;
UPDATE: Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat eminently qualified to contest under section 177 of the Constitution, that they are members of a political party and educated up to school certificate level.
