The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has returned to Nigeria after spending over 100 days in the United Kingdom.
Recall that the Nigerian president had left the shores of the country on may 7, 2017 handing over power to his vice, Professor Yemi Osinajo.
In the latter part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s stay at the Abuja House in London, the president received several dignitaries including the All Progressive Congress, APC, Governors, delegated governors from the Governors’ Forum, The presidential media team, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and others.
Prior to Buhari’s arrival, the Presidential Villa was reported to be agog in anticipation of the return of the nation’s leader.
President Buhari is expected to address Nigerians officially on Monday as contained in a statement released by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina wherein he stated: “President Muhammadu Buhari returns to the country later today, after receiving medical attention in London.
“The President had left the country on May 7, this year, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has functioned as Acting President since then.
“President Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017.
“He thanks all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge.”
