The organized Labour, comprising the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has suspended its two days old nationwide strike.
The Herald reports that the decision to suspend the two days old nationwide strike was reached at a joint National Executive Council (NEC) meeting between the leadership of the TUC and NLC after the intervention of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
The organized labour embarked on a protest over the brutalisation of its National President, Joe Ajaero, and the failure of the government to implement some of the agreements reached on October 2, 2023, effectively.
However earlier today, the NSA disclosed that the suspects involved in the assault against Ajeoro have been arrested, appealing to the union to suspend the strike.
