In what must be a stunning political development for the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammad Buhari has moved against the national chairman of the ruling party, Chief John Oyegun.
According to sources at the NEC meeting holding now in Abuja, Buhari shocked party members by calling for a reversal of tenure elongation granted to Oyegun and others.
The President reportedly made the move just moments ago at the ongoing APC National Executive Committee meeting.
Recall that the APC NEC at its sitting on February 26, elongated the tenure of the party`s chairman and other executive members across all levels by one year starting from June.
At the time, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the APC National Chairman, said the decision was in good faith. However aggrieved members of the party in protest had taken the party to court over the issue.
