President Muhammadu Buhari has personally reacted to videos purportedly showing Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State receiving bribe in dollars.
An online newspaper, Daily Nigerian had released the videos, which the Kano State Government later described as “cloned”.
The online newspaper claimed that the governor collected at least $5 million from contractors executing state government projects in Kano.
But on The Candidates, a programme showcasing 2019 presidential and vice presidential candidates on Wednesday evening, Buhari admitted that he was “overwhelmed” by the videos.
However, he said he would demand answers from the Kano State House of Assembly over their action on the videos when he goes to the North West state for campaign.
Recall that The Herald had quoted Ganduje as saying that the president would get five million votes from Kano in the 2019 presidential election.
