President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the evacuation of all Nigerian citizens who are willing to leave South Africa. This he did after reviewing the report from the special envoy sent to deliver his concerns over the xenophobic attacks to his counterpart – President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, to further engage the South African authorities on “appropriate measures” the latter will take to end the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
The Presidency, in a statement on Monday, said the special envoy, who is the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai-Abubakar, returned to Nigeria after the assignment and submitted his report to Buhari already.
