The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says that eight more coronavirus cases have been recorded in the country, bringing the total confirmed cases to 89.
NCDC disclosed this in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.
According to the tweet, seven of the new cases were recorded in Lagos State while the other one occurred in Benue, the first in the state.
“8 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and 1 in Benue State.
“As at 04:00 pm 28th March there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death,” the tweet read.

Giving a breakdown of total recorded coronavirus cases in Nigeria by state, the agency said that while Lagos now has 59, the Federal Capital Territory has 14, Ogun has three, Enugu has two, Ekiti has one and Oyo has three.
Also, Edo has 2, Bauchi has 2, Osun has one, Rivers has one and Benue has one.
