Boy, 13, allegedly rapes 6-year-old girl repeatedly in Lagos

2 Min Read

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in the Ikotun area of Lagos after he was accused of having carnal knowledge of a six-year-old girl multiple times.

The boy, whose name has been hidden because of his tender age, was caught sleeping with the girl at his parent’s rented apartment at Alamu Olaleye Street, Governor’s Road, Ikotun last Saturday, Sahara Reporters reported.

Residents were said to have become angry when the victim confessed that it was not the boy’s first time of having sex with her.

The irate residents reported the boy to the Ikotun Police Station, from where it was transferred to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja.

“The boy was caught last Saturday. It was obviously not his first time as the little girl also confessed that he had sexual penetration with her several times. She was staying with her grandmother. But the woman had gone out when the incident happened.

“Chibuzor invited the girl again to come and ‘play’ and there, he was caught. The police said the suspect will be tried in a juvenile court but they have taken him away from Ikotun.”

“We were shocked. It was around evening. We didn’t know how a 13-year-old boy would be sleeping with a six-year-old girl? If he was an adult, a mob would have beaten him to a pulp. I think this incident calls for proper parental upbringing of children. The rate at which boys are smoking, taking drugs and going wayward in some parts of Lagos State is alarming,” a resident told the online news medium.
