Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on Bamzir village in Whuntaku District, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. The assault, which occurred at approximately 2:10 am on Sunday, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and significant property destruction.
In a statement issued by the media team of the Chibok Local Government Chairman, Mustapha Madu, the attack claimed the lives of two brothers, Josiah Pogu Pudza, an SS2 student, and Enoch Pogu Pudza. Additionally, Esther Yohanna sustained a bullet injury and is currently receiving medical care.
The terrorists not only took lives but also looted food supplies and livestock from the village. They burned down several homes, shops, and a church auditorium, leaving the community in despair.
Chibok LGA Chairman Mustapha Madu expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and conducted an on-site inspection of the destroyed properties. He reiterated the need for heightened security measures to protect vulnerable communities.
The attack in Bamzir coincided with a similar incident in Kebbi State, where suspected Lakurawa terrorists reportedly killed several people. The resurgence of violent acts by terrorist groups has sparked renewed concerns about security across the country.
In Borno State alone, Boko Haram’s activities have displaced thousands, devastated livelihoods, and disrupted peace in affected regions.
