Anti-jihadist militia leader in Borno state, Umar Kachalla, has confirmed the death of 19 Fulani herders that engaged Boko Haram terrorists in a gunfight.
Kachalla explained that the herdsmen engaged the terrorists in the gunfight, targeting their cattle outside Fuhe Village near Ngala, close to the border with Cameroon.
The Herald gathered that the anti-jihadist militia leader added that the corpses of the late herdsmen have been brought to a police station in the state.
Kachalla said: “The insurgents killed 19 of the herdsmen in the fight. The herdsmen were subdued by the better-armed Boko Haram gunmen.”
It was further learnt that Boko Haram insurgents returned to Fuhe village after the killings, burning of homes and food supplies.
