The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Babangida Aliyu has said that the timetable for the presence of foreign troops in Nigeria helping to wage the battle against Boko Haram should not exceed three months.
Aliyu made the statement during the swearing in of 5 new commissioners in Minna, Niger state on Wednesday.
“It is a normal thing for the country to seek assistance in the fight against insurgency but the people are apprehensive; we must be careful of the wordings of the agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed,” he said.
Aliyu said any such agreement with international forces should not exceed a time frame of three months.
