Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says there is nothing APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu can do to appease his political adversary of many years, Chief Olabode George.
Fani-Kayode, who is an APC chieftain, said this as a guest on Channels TV programme, ‘Politics Today‘ on Wednesday.
The ex-minister spoke after George granted an interview where he said everything Tinubu attributed to himself was a “bundle of lies”
“I absolutely have no qualms, no quarrel with Tinubu, but all I know is that everything he has said he was or his name is this or his school is that it’s a bundle of lies.
“I’m a bonafide Lagosian, we knew what Lagos was like, and Lagos remains the commercial nerve centre, not only in Nigeria but in the whole of West Africa. What has this fellow done to us?” George told Channels Television also on Wednesday.
He also asked Tinubu to open up on the ownership of Alpha Beta Company.
Asked to respond to the comment, Fani-Kayode said it was “tragic” for an elder statesman like George, whom he has immense respect for, to go on national television and call Tinubu a “clown” and other derogatory names over political differences.
The ex-minister said it gave him deep concern that George has brought personal animosity and angst into a political arena.
“I think he is obsessed, I think he is virtually delusional, and I think his hatred for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has beclouded his judgement.

“I think, frankly speaking, that there is nothing that Asiwaju can ever do to appease or please people like Chief Bode George.
“He’s made up his mind that Asiwaju is a demon. He’s made up his mind that he would never support him.
“He’s made up his mind that he would demonise him for the rest of his life,” Fani-Kayode said.
He said that the APC was more concerned about the opinion of the electorate than the likes of George.
Fani-Kayode faulted George’s claim that elections conducted in Lagos since 1999 have been rigged by Tinubu and that with the new Electoral Act now in place, Lagos would go to the PDP in 2023.
The ex-minister stated that Lagos would never go to PDP because the party “imploded in Lagos many years ago, never to be resurrected”.
“Nothing what he says, the answer lies in going to the field. Tinubu has defeated them in every single election in Lagos State fairly and squarely, through all the due process, all the courts, and so on.
“He continuously comes out on top, not just in Lagos but in many other states in the South West. And that is something you should give him credit for.”
