Bloomberg to campaign against Trump’s reelection bid with over $500 million

2 Min Read

Popular philanthropist, Michael Bloomberg has revealed his plans about ensuring that Donald Trump is not elected as the president for the second time. The Billionaire mentioned that he does not mind spending as much as $500 million out of his personal money so as to make sure the current president is voted out of office during the next election

Although, there are speculations about whether he’ll run or not. However, a Democrat mentioned that the former Mayor of New York has plans to spend such an amount, even if he does not run for the office of the president in the election.

If he decides to contest, Bloomberg plans to facilitate his campaign with enough funds that would see him emerge as the winner of Democratic party’s primary election, even though there are over 10 candidates already lobbying for a nomination. But if he does not contest eventually, he would be willing to spend money on campaigns which will massively publicize whoever emerges as the Democratic party’s candidate.

Bloomberg to campaign against Trump’s reelection bid with over $500 million

While discussing the money Bloomberg will spend, Kevin Sheekey, a top Bloomberg advisor told Politico, ‘That’ll get us through the first few months. Mike spent $100 million in his last New York City election. And you can do the math as you think more broadly but New York City is 3 percent of the national population/ I’m not suggesting it’s straight math.

“But I’m suggesting that when Mike Bloomberg is committed to making a difference and seeing something though, generally speaking, he’s pretty unabashed in doing so’

Bloomberg has always been open about his plans to vote out Donald Trump. Last December, his top adviser told CNBC that the former Mayor will go to any length to make sure Trump does not return to power.
