The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU’s Youth Wing has threatened violence on the state and warned the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai against his planned demolition of the Gbagyi Villa, a community which boasts of over 4,000 structures in the Kaduna metropolis.
The angry youths in a terse warning condemned the planned demolition while questioning the Governor’s motive behind the demolition as the case was still yet to be decided upon by a court.
While speaking at the stakeholders meeting organized by the group on Saturday in Kaduna, the SOKAPU National Youth Co-ordinator, Comrade Nasiru Jagaba said: “it is obvious the governor wants blood, as he is so desperate to go ahead with the demolition plan.”
He further warned the stat governor that things will get ugly if one of the buildings in the area was touched.
The youth co-ordinator’s stand was greeted with cheers from the crowd of youths who clamored support for the idea.
The youth co-ordinator added: “I pray this issue can be addressed peacefully because we love our state, so we can go about our duties without fear. If anything happens, it would take us years back from the gains we have made at ensuring peace”.
