A one-time member of the now extinct music group, Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, has come out to publicly accuse Asake of stealing his song.
In a very recent interview on Naija FM, the singer claimed that Asake did a sample of his song ‘Ikebe Super’ on ‘Joha’ without informing him.
Blackface admitted to being a ‘source of inspiration’ for newer generation artists but implored them to try contacting him before using his hard work for their music.
According to him, he goes through a lot to get the inspiration for each of his songs and doesn’t like when younger artists swoon on his work.
Blackface went further to accuse some other prominent artists of stealing his works, the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy he accused of sampling a song of his on ‘Ginger’.
The singer affirmed, “Young ones dey get inspiration from my music. The first person wey sample my music na Wizkid when he do ‘Baby girl I like the way you whine it.’ When I release these records, dem go find the one wey dem like and dem go turn am to their own,”
