Florence Otedola aka DJ Cuppy, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, on Friday afternoon hosted former presidential candidate, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu in her Oxford home.

Prof. Moghalu took to Facebook on Saturday morning to share photos and thoughts of the encounter.

DJ Cuppy, who already holds a Master’s degree from New York University, was in March 2021 accepted into Oxford University to study for another Master’s degree in African Studies and resumed in October 2021.

Prof Moghalu, who is a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is currently Oxford Martin visiting fellow for the university’s Michelmas term from October to December 2021.

In this role, he is lecturing at Oxford on a topic of political economy, leading a seminar on the Nigerian economy and completing work on two forthcoming books.

Taking to Facebook, Prof. Moghalu quoted DJ Cuppy as saying: “You remind me of why I am so proud to be a Nigerian.”

He revealed that the popular DJ and billionaire heiress hosted him in her Oxford home Friday afternoon during which they had a two-hour conversation about Nigeria and its aspirations.

“I was so touched,” Moghalu wrote.

“Cuppy is simply brilliant. A master’s degree student of African studies at the University of Oxford, she combines glamour and depth of intellectual substance to a degree I found simply impressive.

“Not surprisingly, she’s planning on taking a Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) degree eventually.

“In today’s world of glitz and short attention spans, DJ Cuppy is a powerful example to young people in Nigeria & Africa.

“I was accompanied by Abiodun Buari, a Master of Public Policy (MPP) candidate at the Blavatnik School of Government who’s been a very supportive young Nigerian during my time here as a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Oxford Martin School.”
