Bill & Melinda Gates, Dangote foundations commend Bauchi govt over stride on immunization

Bil gates, Milinda and Dangote Foundations have commended Bauchi State Government over its giant stride in various immunization activities in the state.

The foundations particularly commended the state government for paying 75 per cent counterpart fund for the project.

The foundations made the commendation during a mid-year 2016 routine immunization Memorandum of Understanding review meeting held at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Bauchi.

The Co-chair, Mr Bill Gates and and Alhaji Aliko Dangoate through a tele-conference coordinated in Bauchi, assured the state government that they would continue to support the programme.

Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of the state had earlier, said that his admiistration would sustain and strengthen all aspects of the routine immunization.

Abubakar saud that he develop stronger partnership with traditional and religious institutions to enable primary health care system in the state to excel.

He said that the state government would emulate the policy of the federal government to establish one functional primary health care centers in each of the 323 wards in the state.

Abubakar said that the state government in partnership with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was currently constructing 19 primary health care centers in the state.

The governor asserted that in spite of economic downturn in the state, the state government would fulfil its financial conatributions to the routine immunization.

He thanked Bill & Melinda gates and Dangote Foundations as well as development partners in assisting the programme.
