Khosi, now 25 years old, emphasized that her belief in a Higher Power has always played a significant role in her life, though its intensity varied over time. At the age of 18, she made the decision to get baptized, marking the beginning of a period between 18 and 21 when her faith was particularly strong. During this time, she abstained from smoking and drinking, proudly proclaiming her virginity while eagerly awaiting her future husband. However, as she reached 22, her perspective began to shift.

Believing in the Higher Power has always been a big thing in my life. Just that at some points it was stronger than others.

I got baptised when I was 18. Between 18 to 21, I was such as strong believer. I didn’t smoke, I didn’t drink. I was a virgin waiting for my husband. And then at 22, I was like, what?!”

She further shared that during her tertiary education, she faced financial constraints, yet remained determined to pursue her dreams. While lacking material wealth, Khosi’s focus was on obtaining an education and striving for success. However, upon graduating, the absence of a well-paying job became a source of disappointment and contributed to a sense of downfall in her life.

I have always been a religious person. Back then, I didn’t have much but life was like, this got better. But funny enough, I was beginning to be unhappy. I don’t know how to explain it.

So, when I was in tertiary, I didn’t have a lot. But I was determined. The only thing I had was that I’m gonna get my education then I’m gonna strive. I think the downfall was the fact that I got my education and I still didn’t have a paying job.
