Big Brother Naija Winner Whitemoney Reveals Misunderstanding at Party with Burna Boy

2 Min Read

Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 6, has shed light on an incident where he was inadvertently prevented from approaching Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy at a party in Lagos. Contrary to speculations that he was turned away by Burna Boy’s security personnel, Whitemoney clarified that it was his own bouncers who restrained him from meeting the “African Giant” singer.

Whitemoney

In an interview with renowned media personality Chude Jideonwo, Whitemoney, who is not only a reality star but also a musician, emphasized the importance of maintaining a connection with fans and supporters. He likened the relationship between fans and celebrities to that of voters and politicians, underlining the role fans play in an artist’s rise to stardom and career success.

The incident in question occurred at a party where Whitemoney learned that Burna Boy had made an appearance. Being an ardent fan of Burna Boy, Whitemoney decided to approach the celebrated musician. However, his attempt to meet Burna Boy was thwarted when his own bouncers intervened and advised him to step back.

Burna Boy

Whitemoney recounted the incident, saying, “We were at a party, and I heard that Burnaboy had just walked in. I’m a huge fan of Burna; I left where I was because I wanted to go and greet him. I asked if I could say hi to Burna, and they asked why? That was when I just withdrew, so people thought it was his bouncers bouncing me, but it was my bouncer that told me, ‘Oga, let’s leave here.’
