Former Big Brother Naija reality star, Josephina Otabor, known popularly as Phyna, is taking a stand against comments made by Apostle Femi Lazarus, Lead Pastor of the Sphere of Light Church. A recent sermon by Apostle Lazarus sparked controversy after claiming that “when a girl has not seen a father’s affection, she becomes sexually loose.”
Taking to her social media platform (presumably referring to Twitter or Instagram based on the “X handle” mention),Phyna strongly criticized the pastor’s remarks, calling them “generalizing” and inaccurate. She emphasized her own experience of growing up without a father figure but maintaining a strong moral compass. “I grew up well and was never sexually loose,” Phyna stated.
The reality star also acknowledged past instances where she may have made generalizations herself, indicating a willingness to learn and grow. However, she did not shy away from engaging with a user who disagreed with her stance, citing a previous admission of abortion. Phyna’s response, mentioning her age at the time (“around 19 to 20”), implies she views the situation differently now.
