Ka3na, a prominent Big Brother Naija star and successful entrepreneur, has recently opened up about the tragic passing of her Caucasian husband, Mr. Jones. The news of her husband’s untimely demise had circulated online a few weeks ago when a heart-wrenching video of Ka3na mourning at a funeral surfaced on the internet.
Finally breaking her silence on the incident, the 27-year-old mother of one took to her Instagram page on Sunday to pen a heartfelt tribute to her late husband. Ka3na disclosed that her beloved spouse lost his battle with cancer on May 1, 2023, leaving their daughter without a father and plunging her into widowhood at such a young age. In her emotional post, she shared a poignant montage of throwback pictures and videos featuring her family.
In her Instagram caption, Ka3na expressed her deep pain and sorrow: “Life 1-Ka3na 0. Today I Found The Courage To Put These Words Together… LIFE won this time! I was only 9 years old when I lost my father. My mom said I cried while everyone else did, but my tears were hunger-related. I never truly understood the agony of losing a LOVED one until that fateful call from the hospital on 01-05-2023. It took me three whole days to process the heartbreaking news, and ever since then, grief has consumed my entire existence.“
Despite the well-intentioned advice from others to move on, Ka3na stated that she found herself grappling with the daunting question of how to navigate life without her husband. She lamented on the fact that his passing has left their daughter fatherless and herself widowed in her twenties.
She said “ I DO NOT WISH WHAT AM CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH ON ANYONE. Death is inevitable yet the only occurrence we are never prepared for.”
Ka3na acknowledged that “Regardless of all the pains you went through in the last days of your life, you never gave up hope! You kept on saying “My Kate Don’t Worry! I’m Going To Beat Cancer And Be Here For Our Lila’s 18th Birthday & Graduation” Oh Death How Could You???”
In her tribute, Ka3na drew strength from the biblical passage Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which emphasized the cyclical nature of life and the inevitability of different seasons and times.
