The organizers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has announced that the fourth season will be staged in Nigeria, making it the first time the reality television show will be shot outside South Africa.
Nigeria’s minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, had questioned the organizers for not bringing the show to Nigeria. He had requested the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to investigate why it was being staged in South Africa.
The minister had said the NBC should determine whether Multichoice, by shooting the show in South Africa, breached the Nigerian Broadcasting Code.

According to the organizers, The auditions for the fourth season will be held on February 1 and 2, taking place in eight locations; Lagos, Abuja, Warri, Benin, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Calabar and Enugu.
It has also been revealed that Big Brother Naija has parted ways with online store, Payporte. The erstwhile lead sponsor will be replaced by betting platform, Bet9ja.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, media personality and event compere, will return as the host of season four, which is expected to air after the 2019 elections.
It will be recalled that Miracle Igbokwe emerged winner of the 2018 edition, taking home the N45 million grand prize and a sports utility vehicle. Efe Ejeba won the 2017 edition of the reality show.
