American singer Beyoncé made a surprise appearance during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony broadcast on NBC Friday night, introducing several American athletes. Wearing a red, white, and blue ensemble, Beyoncé praised the team, saying, “These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us… That pride and that joy? That’s what gets me about this team.”
She specifically shouted out notable athletes Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Caeleb Dressel, and Katie Ledecky. Beyoncé concluded by saying, “America, give it up for Team U.S.A., the very best of who we are. What a vision to behold. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate.”
This unexpected appearance added excitement to the opening ceremony, which marked the beginning of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
