Lagos State Government has said residents should beware of Scammers who impersonate Governor Babatunde Fashola on Twitter and Facebook to rip-off unwary people.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr Hakeem Bello made this statement on Sunday; he said “The Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, does not do business on Facebook. He does not operate a Facebook account that asks people to make cash donations into any bank account, although he (Fashola) has Facebook and Twitter accounts; those are used strictly for communicating government policies and programmes when necessary.”
This development arose after one Dr. Bukola David attempted to defraud a popular artiste by asking him to pay a sum of money in order to process SURE-P Empowerment Fund for the Artiste.
Mr Bello strictly warned Lagos residents to beware of such scammers on social media.
