Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has stood by his appraisal of Manchester United that they are not title contenders.
The two clubs face off in a derby match later today in a match that could possibly even rule out United from the title
The Red half of Manchester goes into the game in fine form having completed an incredible comeback against Juventus and winning the last 2 games before that.
Speaking ahead of the game, Silva was pressed on his earlier statement that he did not see Manchester United as contenders, a statement which he stood by

“Well how many points are they behind us?” he said
“I just think, looking from now, that if they are already nine points behind it will be more difficult for them to play for the title than Liverpool, Chelsea, City or even Tottenham or Arsenal. So that was the point, not because United is not a very good team and not a contender.”
Silva and Mourinho are both Portuguese and Silva says he has nothing but the utmost respect for the coach
“He represents our country in a very good way,” he admitted.
“It’s good for us as a small country that we have people like Cristiano [Ronaldo], Mourinho representing us at a high level.”
