Suspected herdsmen have launched a gun attack on officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and killed two of them in Korakga Uvir in Guma local government area of Benue state.
The deceased, whose identities have not been disclosed, were among the security agents drafted to the area following the mass slaughter of 73 persons in Guma and Logo LGAs of the state.
According to Vanguard, the duo were on patrol with other sister security agencies when they were gunned down.
Their attackers reportedly set up an ambush before opening fire on the security team.
They were said to have joined the corps in 2017 and were drafted into the Joint Task Force sent to quell the crisis in Guma.
