Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has denied rumors of his planned defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Gov. Alia emphasized that he will not leave the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he remains the leader of the party in the state.

Allegations of Smear Campaign

Gov. Alia accused unnamed Abuja politicians of orchestrating the smear campaign against him, aiming to create discord between him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He described the claims as baseless and lacking credible evidence.

Commitment to APC and Renewed Hope Agenda

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda championed by President Tinubu. He highlighted his achievements in office, including plum appointments for Benue people and transformational advancement initiatives across the state.
