The Benue finance and appropriation bill 2017, on Tuesday passed second reading on the floor of the State House of Assembly.
This followed a debate on its merits and general principles, which was the hallmark of the second reading.
Leading the debate, the Majority Leader, Mr Benjamin Adanyi, who outlined the merits and general principles of the appropriation bill, moved that it should be read for the second time.
The Speaker, Mr Terkimbi Ikyange, consequently directed the Clerk of the House, Dr Torese Agena, to read the bill for the second time.
Thereafter, the Speaker referred the bill to the Standing Committee on Appropriation for further legislative work.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that during the plenary, the Assembly received a report of the House standing committee on Water Resources from the committee’s chairman, Mr Dominic Ucha, representing Tiev state constituency. (NAN)
