Benedicta Dauda who serves in President Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, has been fingered as being guilty of examination Malpractice while taking an exam in the university of Jos (UNIJOS) on the 4th of May 2016.
The Anti-Graft advisor who is also an Associate Professor of law and head of the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law of the Faculty of Law in UNIJOS, was writing an exam to gain a Masters degree in Research and Public Policy in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
According to Premium times, the department claimed she sneaked in prepared answers popularly called ‘expo’ in the examination room during her Global Context in Public Policy course.
She was caught and she was then reported to the university’s examination committee. There have been reports however that a cover-up has been attempted by the University so as to avoid the scandal.
Prof. Ezekiel Best of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University debunked this claim saying “I was not even around when the incident happened,
“So I don’t have all the details at this time. But there is nothing like that that we are doing nothing about it.”
Abdullahi Abdullahi, the public relations officer of the university, said the management of the institution would take action if anything is confirmed.
He said “I tried to confirm whether there was anything like that, really I couldn’t get any confirmation. It has not been brought to the attention of management. So right now I wouldn’t know,
“Although the university has internal processes that deals with these issues, even if there was anything like that, which I doubt much, it would have to go through the normal internal processes from the department to the faculty and then to the exam misconduct committee. It is at that stage it would be brought to the appropriate authority for sanction.”
