The senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to shun further attacks on his predecessors.
Buhari has previously launched verbal attacks against former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo over their performances in office.
Specifically, the president has blamed Jonathan for alleged wastage of the nation’s resources under his watch, stating that this has starved the present administration of necessary funds needed to perform optimally.
Also, President Muhammadu recently queried why Nigeria spent $16 billion on the Nigerian National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) under Obasanjo with no commensurate electricity to show for it.
But taking to his verified Twitter handle on Sunday morning, Murray-Bruce, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator, urged Buhari to focus on the task of governance instead of unnecessary fixation with his predecessors.
He said, “President Buhari, please leave your predecessors alone. Stop blaming them. Instead, let Nigerians see the outcome of your leadership. Those you constantly blame, have tangible outcomes of their leadership. Yet, you who blames them has no tangible outcome of your leadership.”
