Son of the Governor of Kaduna State, Bello El-Rufai has issued a public apology for threatning to gang-rape the mother of someone he was arguing with on Twitter.
Bello went on to post a series of sexually violent tweets aimed at the individual who had called him a daddy’s boy.
His mother had also commented at the time saying “all is fair in love and war” in response to the sexually violent tweets of her son Bello.
Mrs. El-Rufai however issued an apology of sorts saying she hadn’t read her son’s tweets before commenting and there was no longer excuse for his uncouth utterances.

The matter degenerated into an ethnic war on twitter between Igbos and Hausa while an assistant editor of an online newspaper was allegedly fired for running the original story.
After much back and forth however, Bello El-Rufai tendered an apology for his utterances stating that it was in the heat of the moment.
He apologized for not keeping his temper in check and for exhibiting traits he wasn’t taught while growing up.
He said that he regretted the use of the sexual innuendos in the message he sent to the individual.
He said further that his recent conduct had fallen short of the standards of decency and strong values with which he was raised.
