The All Share Index depreciated marginally by -0.17% after gaining for four straight trading sessions. The All Share Index closed today at 31,441.71 basis points as against 31,495.73 basis points from Thursday’s trading session. A total of 3,432 deals valued at ₦2.32bn took place, a decrease of -22.04% and -56.29% respectively. The total number of shares trade reduced marginally from 532,289,580 to 524,648,340, a -1.44% decrease, while Market Capitalization stood at ₦10.77 trillion at the close of trading for the week.
It was a day of mixed fortunes as four indexes made gains, while three made losses. The Oil and Gas Index surprisingly led the pack with an increase of 1.96%. Other Indexes that made gains are Insurance, Lotus and the Industrial Index. While the Banking Index, NSE 30 and Consumer Goods Index made losses.
Market breadth however closed positive as FO led 24 gainers against 18 losers led by GUINNESS at the end of today’s session.
The Top Gainers chart was led by FO, rebounding after a loss yesterday to gain ₦8 and close at ₦208. MOBIL was next gaining ₦5 and closing at ₦160. PZ, ASHAKACEM and BERGER completed the charts adding ₦1.51, ₦1 and ₦0.47 respectively.
The Top Losers chart was led by GUINNESS, they shed -₦6 and closed at ₦131. They were closely followed by TOTAL who shed -₦5.25 to close at ₦150. FLOURMILLS, CADBURY and OKOMUOIL shed -₦1.84, -₦1.75 and -₦1.17 to close at ₦29, ₦33.30 and ₦24.83 respectively.
CONTINSURE, TRANSCORP, ZENITHBANK, ACCESS and STANBIC were the most active stocks on the floor today, with a combined worth of ₦1.33bn traded.
