Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Adekunle Olopade has opened up about why his colleague Ilebaye Odiniya’s victory in the All-Stars edition of the reality show holds personal significance for him.
In a recent media chat with fellow ex-housemates Kellyrae, Jeff, and Topher, Adekunle explained that his actions during the previous season, “Level Up,” contributed to Ilebaye’s early eviction, leaving him with a sense of guilt.
He recalled, “Ilebaye’s win in All-Stars is personal to me. I’m happy that she won, and I’ll tell you why. In ‘Level Up,’ I was the Head of House, and our season was different. The Head of House had the power to nominate housemates for eviction. Ilebaye was among those I mentioned, and she ended up leaving in the third week.”
Adekunle shared a specific memory of their post-eviction experience, saying, “When we left the house, we were trapped in a bus because fans wanted to meet us. I saw Ilebaye standing by the gate, and people were walking past her. This was someone who shared the same stage with us, yet she seemed invisible. I felt guilty because I was the reason she got evicted.”
Reflecting on the All-Stars edition, Adekunle expressed his joy for Ilebaye’s triumph. “When we came back for All-Stars and I saw her again, I was genuinely happy. Her win felt like redemption, and I’m proud of her.”
Ilebaye, who faced numerous challenges during her BBNaija journey, emerged as the winner of the All-Stars season, securing a milestone in the history of the reality show.
