Following the postponement of the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa, former governor of the state and APC governorship hopeful, Chief Timipre Slyva has appealed to his supporters to be calm and law-abiding.
In a statement by Mr. Doifie Buokoribo, his media aide, Sylva equally said he decided to join the governorship race to help steer the state away from the “current course of political confusion and economic hopelessness.”
Slyva, who is regarded as the leader of the party in the state, said “the primary election is just a process to our ultimate goal of retrieving our collective political destiny from the PDP grabbers, who have arrested the development of the state since 2012, and fulfilling it for the good of all.”
Assuring his supporters, he said he felt confident that he would come out victorious in the primaries because public opinion was in his favour.
It will be recalled that the leadership of the APC on Wednesday shifted the date of its governorship primary from September 19 to 22.
