Bauchi Police Arrest 4 For Killing Lady Through Fake Abortion Medication

Four persons have been arrested in Bauchi State in connection with the death of a lady who was found buried in a shallow grave, and suspected to have died from illegal abortion medication.

This was disclosed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, in an interaction with newsmen on Sunday.

According to Mohammed, the victim was 25-year-old Rosa Luka who died through abortion complications.

He said Luka’s body was found in a shallow grave in the Bayan Gari area of the Bauchi metropolis, after she lost her life as a result of taking fake abortion medication.

The PRO said the four persons arrested in connection with the incident are Hillary Joseph, Mudashiru Bako, Nasiru Haruna and Hamisu Yashi.

“On November 9, 2015 at about 17:00hrs,following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Tafawa Balewa housing Estate Division Bauchi arrested four suspects in Bayan Gari Area who conspired and hurriedly buried a 25-year-old female, Rose Luka from Adamawa State in a shallow grave at a compound in Bayan Gari.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim allegedly died as a result of complications from abortion.

“The scene of crime was visited by Forensic experts attached to Criminal investigation department and corpse exhumed, photographed and taken to Bauchi University Teaching hospital for autopsy,” Mohammed said.

Furthermore, he listed exhibits recovered from the suspects as two shovels, one sachet of Diclofene tablets, one sachet of menbendezalen with four tablets, Daltic five tablets, Predimisolene Eight tablets, Bunto blood tonic and a bottled water mixed with substance suspected to be drugs.

Mohammed said the suspects have been charged and will appear at the Chief Magistrates Court 1, Bauchi on December 12, 2015.
