A Non Government Organization ((NGO) ,Al-Muhibbah Foundation on Thursday distributed handwashing facilities to over 70 places of worship in Bauchi metropolis to fight against the novel COVID-19.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gesture is coming few days after the lifting of the ban placed on congregational prayers by the State Government.
The foundation also distributed clothes to over 80 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in the state,as well as wheelchairs and drugs to various maternity clinics to support pregnant women and sick children.
NAN reports that other items distributed included odour control scents,liquid hand wash, sanitizers, disinfectants and water dispensers.
Speaking during the occasion, First lady of Bauchi state,Dr Aisha Mohammed, said that the gesture was to ensure that as congregational prayer resumed, Muslims and Christians complied with guidelines on hand-washing in their places of worship.
She cautioned parents on the need to monitor the activities of their children while celebrating Eid-el-fitr, especially with regards social distancing.
In her remarks, the chairperson,Women Wing of Christian Women Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN),Mrs Jamimah Jauro, prayed for the continues success of the Foundation and urged them to maintain the tempo in helping the needy in the society.
