After two weeks of the announcement of the discovery of the “stolen” Bauchi state aircraft, the Mohammed Abubakar-led administration in the state has finally recovered the aircraft on Friday.
It will be recalled that the governor, while giving account of his 100 days in office, announced the discovery of a missing plane belonging to the state, the Embraer ERJ 145, which was traced to Morocco.
The governor had accused his predecessor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, of “stealing” the plane and hiding it in Morocco.
Yuguda had on his part accused the governor of the state of insincerity, stating that he told the governor about the whereabouts of the plane in his handover notes.
According to him, the state government did not need an asset recovery committee to discover the plane’s whereabouts as it was on lease to an airline, Overland Airways.
Deputy Governor, Nuhu Gidado, while receiving the plane, said the state government was happy to finally be able to recover the plane.
